DRIVE AGAINST TRAFFIC IN OGUN STATE AND FACE THE LAW - OGUN TRACE COMMANDER

The Ogun State Traffic outfit, TRACE, on Friday warned that it would no longer tolerate any excuse from owners of vehicles apprehended for driving against the traffic (a.k.a. One Way) in the state.

 

The TRACE Corps Commander/CEO 'Seni Ogunyemi who dropped the hint in Abeokuta, the state capital, told The Voice Magazine that any vehicle caught driving against the traffic would be confiscated and its driver sent to law court for  prosecution.

Ogunyemi said it wouldn't no longer be  business as usual as nobody who drives against the traffic would be spared,  no matter whose horse is gored.
He was reacting to a fatal accident that occurred on Friday at RCC Construction Site along Benin - Ore  Expressway inbound Ijebu Ode when two vehicles had a head-on collision  after one of the drivers had taken one way.
The Voice Magazine reports that the accident claimed one life and sent 16 other passengers to hospital.
According to an eye witness account, the accident was an error on the part of a Blue Honda Pilot with Reg. No. KJA977FD which driver drove against the traffic and collided with a 22-passengers green Toyota Picnic with Reg. No. AGL 258 AP.

The Ogbere Divisional Command of TRACE which confirmed the story told our correspondent that the accident killed one female passenger, while 16 others were critically injured.

According to the TRACE Command the accidental vehicles have been upturned and towed to police station, while the dead victims and the casualties have been taken  to the General Hospital Ijebu Ode.
