The Ogun Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE) has advised motorists to adhere strictly to specified speed limit to stay alive and avoid crashes during this festive season.
The Owode/Ijako-Otta Unit Commander of TRACE, CDR Temitope Oseni, gave the advice while addressing Association of drivers and motor-cycle riders in her jurisdiction today, December 13th, 2019
Oseni said that the advice became necessary to motorists in order to avoid mishap and carnage that could lead to unnecessary loss of lives and properties during the yuletide period.
“I want to urge all motorists to comply to stipulated speed limit and avoid driving in a direction prohibited by road traffic law.
"They should also fasten their seat belt to reduce fatalities rate in case when accident happened" she added
The unit commander implored motorists to concentrate and be vigilant as well as shun drunk driving that may endanger the life of other road users.
Oseni also warned motorists against flouting traffic rules and regulations, saying that any erring driver would be penalised.
She cautioned pedestrians that would be crossing the road around Owode-Ijako axis of Lagos/Abeokuta Expressway to be careful to avoid being knock down by those driving against traffic.
