Suspected Police officer shots FRSC marshal for arresting him for violating traffic law in Ogun

An unidentified man suspected to be a police officer has reportedly took to his heel after shooting a marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps around Ibafo area of Ogun state. 
In a statement by the RouteCommander, Florence Okpe said the man who identified himself as a police officer was arrested after he allegedly violated the traffic.  
Okpe explained that the man who wasdriving a vehicle with registration number WED264YE brought out pistol in the process of arresting him and reportedly shot at the one of the legs of the arresting marshal.  
He added that the case has been reported at the police station and a serious manhunt has begun on the suspected police officers.  
He said, “at about 2015hrs on Sunday 15 December,2019, the FRSC operatives were controlling traffic on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway around Ibafo , when a vehicle with registration number WED264YE was stopped forroute violation that is driving against traffic.
“The driver, an unidentified man who claimed to be a police man was in the process brought out a pistol and shot at one of the legs of the arresting Marshal that stopped him before he zoomed off.
“The incident has been reported to the Police and a manhunt has been mounted for his arrest . 
“The Marshal shot is in stable condition.”
