The Almajeri who were carefully ‘packed’ together with various types of pepper in an IVECO truck with Reg. No. Kano XG172 KNG were intercepted by TRACE operatives at Joju area of Sango in the Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of the state.
Speaking to TheCaveat.info, TRACE Area Commander 4, Ajibade Adekunle, explained that the state traffic outfit had the task of enforcing the Federal and state government orders of banning inter-state movement as well as closure of border.
He said turning back people at the border is not a new thing since the emergence of COVID-19 pandemic, adding that since it has been established that coronavirus is real, government agents and all peace-loving individuals must try their best to contain its spread.
“The true of what the truck was conveying came to light when our operatives forced the driver to park and untie the tarpaulin. The Almajeri, packed together with various types of pepper filled the truck to the brim.
“The truck was turned back and led to tollgate from where they said they said they came in”, Ajibade said.
