In order  to meet with the 21st century e - banking challenge, the Nigeria Police Force Microfinance Bank, NPFMB, is set for digitalasation of it's banking operations.

Similarly,  the bank plans more branches nationwide. The bank chairman, Mr Azubuko Joel Udah, a retired Deputy Inspector-General of Police, DIG, said that the need to digitalazed is not unconnected with the resolve of  the bank to give it's teeming customers seamless transactions in modern banking.

Udah, while confirming the plans for more branches, disclosed that the bank currently has 35 branches as  " a branch in each state capital is being planned".

According to him,  while some states  have one  or two branches, some states like Ebonyi and Gombe  do not have any.

This, he said has led to several persons pressing  the NPFMB Board to open branches in these places.

The new branches will be opened in a gradual  process.  On how the bank eased the long queues hitherto experienced at its Lagos branches, Udah said a strategy adopted by the board and the management was the magic wand. "

Before the lockdown  order by the Federal government over COVID-19 pandemic, the Board  and the Management employed the services of more hands, procured chairs and canopies for our customers.

This helped when the social distancing order was given by the Federal government" Udah concluded.
