ATAN-OTA DEVELOPMENT, I WILL CONTINUE ON LATE ALATAN’S ACHIEVEMENTS – NEW ALATAN

The new Olu of Atan-Ota,  Awori Kingdom, Ogun State, Oba Akinyemi Adeniji Isiyemi, has assured the people of Atan that he will continue the development of Atan from where the late Olu of Atan stop. 

The Kabiyesi disclosed this when the Publisher of The Voice Magazine, Otunba Oladele Damilola Moses paid him a courtesy visit in his Ota residence. 

The traditional ruler eulogized the late Alatan of Atan, Oba Isiyemi for his unwavering spirit in developing the community thereby placing it on a good stratum. In his words, “I want to appreciate the late Alatan, my father and mentor, Oba Isiyemi for his commitment towards the development of Atan Ota and also unite the indigenes of the town. No doubt, Baba fought for his right, he champion the cause of upgrading Alatan Stool from Baaleship to Obaship, may his soul continue to rest in peace. I want to assure you Baba, that I will continue from where you stop, I promise to make you happy in your grave”.

Oba Akinyemi Isiyemi attended United Primary School, Koko, Atan, from there, he proceeded to Atan Local Grammar School, Atan. He attended Teachers Training in Ota. He gained admission into into Oyo State College of Education. He is a graduate of University of Ibadan.

Oba Akinyemi Isiyemi was among the Six Candidates that contested for the stool of Alatan recently. The election was held at the Ado-odo/Ota Local Government Secretariat.

While declaring the result of the election, the Secretary of the Local Government and Chairman, Chieftaincy Committee, Hon. Kolawole Muyideen Lawal announced Oba Akinyemi Isiyemi as the candidate that emerged as the new Alatan of Atan, Ota. 

Oba Isiyemi polled Six votes, leaving Prince Adewumi Isiyemi in a comfortable second position and other candidates, Prince Jamiu Olatunji Aina Ogunlase, Prince Adewale Babatunde Isiyemi, prince Adebiyi Alani Isiyemi and prince Adefolu Israel Isiyemi not having any vote.

Oba Akinyemi Isiyemi told the Publisher that his plans for Atan are to invites all sons and daughters of the town to come home and invest in the community so that the town can grow economically, physically and socially. The new Alatan equally assured the people of Atan that he will use his networking to facilitate more developments into the town and bring the attention of government at all levels into the town. Kabiyesi said he will liaise with private organization and government agencies in order to secure jobs for the youths and empowered the artisans among the youths.

He assured the people of their adequate security as he will work with all security agencies to make sure that Atan is save from hoodlums and criminals. Oba Isiyemi used the opportunity to appreciate the governor, Prince   Dapo Abiodun and his deputy, Engr(Mrs) Noimot Salako for their support. He extends his appreciation to House of Assembly representing Ota State Constituency, Hon. Ibema and the Chairman, Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government, Hon. Lawal Adewale Wasiu.

He finally appreciated Oba Prof Adeyemi Obalanlege, Oba Samuel Ojugbele and all other Awori Obas. He however, urged other candidates to team up with him in order to move Atan forward. Adding that there experience and expertise would be needed in the smooth running of affairs in the town..
