Hoodlums who disguised themselves as #EndSARS protesters at Herbert Macaulay Way in Yaba Local Government Area, around 10 am attacked two vans belonging to the Rapid Response Squad, RRS, and injured members of the squad in the process.
According to information the incident happened when two vans had gone to pick up officers who were on duty overnight.
The angry protesters hauled pebbles at the trucks, as the policemen escaped to safety.
Unfortunately, one of the officers who were armed with weapons, was caught up with and beaten thoroughly.
However, it was gathered that some of the officers who were injured were taken to the hospital for treatment.
In another scene around Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, at Secretariat end, protesters chased after an RRS pick-up van but the driver on sighting the surging mob, reversed and escaped from being lynched.
