Ogun Gov Appoints Former CP Akinremi Amotekun Commander

The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, at the weekend,  approved the appointment of a retired commissioner of police as the Commander of the State Security Network Agency (Amotekun).  

He is Mr David Ajibola Akinremi, a former Commissioner of Police in charge of Taraba state and the head of  the X--Squad Section of the police respectively. 


The appointment of Akinremi, a seasoned police chief of inmpeccable character,  is said to have been done by the Governor with a view to giving the security outfit a teeth to bite.

The appointment  takes immediate effects. 

Akinremi is a lawyer who  also studied Political Science and History at  then  University of Ife, Ile-Ife, now Obafemi Awolowo University, Osun State and Law at University of Lagos, UNILAG with Master's degree in Law from the Lagos State University, Ojo-Lagos.

A  one time Deputy Force Secretary at Force Headquarters, Abuja, Akinremi's  career in the Nigeria Police Force saw him transversing no fewer than five of the six political zones in the country. 


Married to a beautiful woman from Imo state, Akinremi hails from  Owu in  Ogun State and blessed with children.
