Breaking- COVID-19, AWORI DIOCESE DONATES FOOD PACKAGES TO VULNERABLE MEMBERS OF THE DIOCESE

The Diocese of Awori Anglican Communion, Ota, Ogun State, today, April 7th, 2020 donates food packages to the vulnerable members of the diocese to cushion the effect of COVID-19


The food packages which comprises varieties of food was hand over to the Dean of the Cathedral, Archdeacons of each archdeaconries and zones by the Diocesan, the Rt. Revd Dr J. Akin Atere at the Bishop's court, G.R.A Ota to distributes to the members of their archdeaconries.

According to the Bishop of the diocese, the Rt. Revd. Dr. J. Akin Atere, he said "these gifts of love to the needy is done as part of the teaching of our Lord Jesus Christ to always gives to the needy and the less privileges especially in a time like this that many cannot afford a daily meal, as well as the directive from the Primate of the Anglican Communion that churches should help the less privileges.

The cleric emphasized that the food items are not meant for all members but only the vulnerable members. Bishop Atere said they have recognize these people in the diocese
" Let me appeal to members of the diocese that this food palliative cannot go round, it is only meant for the vulnerable members among us, with the help of archdeacons and priests I have been able to know the number of these people and they are those that will benefit from it. It is my prayers that God will continue to provide for all our needs and help us put an end to this deadly virus ". He added.
