No few than two persons were killed on Friday while seven others narrowly escaped death as a Dangote Cement truck crushed three vehicles and three motorcycles while descending Sango-Ota bridge in Ogun State.

An eyewitness account informed The Voice Magazine that the accident occurred around noon when the Dangote Cement truck with Reg. No. HOWO GN 6712-16 Ash colour, suddenly had a break failure while negotiating the sloppy bend of Sango towards tollgate to link Lagos.

Other vehicles and motorcycles involved are, Volkswagen  yellow bus KTU952XY, Toyota Corrolla Gold colour EkY556ES, Toyota Highlander black FKJ505DP, Motorcycle honda red GBE010QV, Motorcycle Honda blue AAB404WL, motorcycle Boxer red JBD186UP.

The Dangote Cement truck just had brake failure now, while descending from the top of the bridge. It rammed into vehicles and motorcycles. Several people were critically injured. I cannot say how many were killed for now", the witness told TheCaveat.info.

Confirming the report TRACE Commander Ajibade Adekunle said he could confirm confirmed two persons killed while other injured victims were rushed to the hospital.

On finding lasting solution to incessant accidents caused by vehicles with break failure, Commander Ajibade advised motorists, especially truck drivers to ensure regular serving of their vehicles as well as making sure they are in good order before putting them on the roads.

Ajibade said TRACE operatives and other sister agencies rushed to the scene of accident assisting the victims by taking them to the hospital as well as taking the dead victims to the  mortuary in Ifo.
