#EndSARS: Senator’s Aides, Not DSS Conveyed Thugs In SUV – Ex-director

Dennis Amachree, a former Assistant Director of the Department of State Services (DSS), has claimed that persons seen in viral video on suit conveying hoodlums who disrupted #EndSARS protest in Abuja, are not officials of the secret police.

Amachree stated that the men wearing black suit and picking up thugs on the streets of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) days ago, were aides to a particular Nigerian senator.

The former DSS official disclosed this in an interview on Channels Television programme, ‘Sunrise Daily’.

“I called the headquarters to find out. Those people were working for a particular senator. And if that is the case, I think they should (arrest them). If anybody tries to impersonate security personnel, he should be arrested immediately.

“Don’t allow it to happen and then you go ahead and then do inquiries or panels or whatever. I know a lot of people impersonating SSS, taking letters to different places have been arrested and they have been dealt with immediately. Those people you are referring to were not SSS officials,” he said.

He added that the Nigerian army should be able to easily fish out those behind the Lekki Toll Gate shooting, just as the DSS had been able to ascertain that its men were not those picking up hoodlums in the footage.
