His Royal Majesty Oba Samuel Olufemi Ojugbele, the Onilogbo of Ilogbo-Asowo, Awori Kingdom, Ogun State will on Saturday, May 15th, 2021 honours notable personalities and organizations that has contributed to the development of his domain.
Releasing the names of the awardees, the Secretary of the Onilogbo 20th Coronation Anniversary who is also the Baaroyin (Media Adviser) of Oba Ojugbele, Otunba Damilola Oladele said Kabiyesi chose to honour these people and organization for there unmeasured support to Kabiyesi ever since he ascended the throne of his fore-fathers.
The awardees are, Hon. Justice Laja Durojaye, Hon. Owodunni, Otunba Olumide Akinbinu, Intercontinental Distillers Ltd, Living Faith Church Worldwide, Life Builders Foundation, Magistrate Titi Bello, Messr Sola Ojutalayo SAN.
Oba Ojugbele will clocks 20 years on the throne in October 20th, 2021. He was installed 20years ago to succeeded Oba Talabi, the late Onilogbo of Ilogbo-Asowo. Few years after his ascension to the throne, Oba Ojugbele an erudite lawyer was elevated from Ogun State Second Class Obas to First Class Obas and also to a position of Permanent Member of Ogun State Council of Obas.
Oba Ojugbele, a member of Egba Traditional Council on his ascending to the throne met Ilogbo town in a shamble condition. There are few houses, no school either primary or secondary. There was high rate of insecurity, the children and youths were roaming aimlessly.
During his two decades on the throne, Oba Ojugbele has develop Ilogbo town, presently, there are over forty villages under Ilogbo-Asowo domain, he has facilitated Primary and Secondary Schools to Ilogbo, as at today, there are many private schools in the town, hotels, Petrol filling stations, churches, private enterprises have also been established in the town.
The town has enjoy relative security ever since his ascension to the throne.
Kabiyesi's 20th coronation anniversary is a year long event. The award presentation is part of the activities line up for the anniversary.
Other awardees includes Prof Chris Anyanwu, Catholic Group of Schools, Awori Anglican Diocese Group of Schools, Alh. Olowolaju, Pastor Adeyemi, Revd Ogun, Nigeria Shell Gas
The award event will hold at Onilogbo Palace at exactly 10.00am. Oba Wasiu Ogungbayi, the Onitetiku of Owode and other notable guests are expected to grace the event.
