Olusola Kunle Egbesola is the newly elected President of the prestigious sport club, Abeokuta Sport Club, Abeokuta, Ogun State.
This young man was born in Lagos State in the mid 70s into the family of the late industrialist, Pa. Ebenezer Aremu Egbesola. Late Pa. Ebenezer Egbesola is a business magnate, a man of sterling virtues, an indigene of Abeokuta, Ogun State.
Mr. Sola Egbesola holds B.Sc in Business Administration, MBA in Finance, M.Sc in Industrial Relations and presently, he is undergoing his Ph.D in Psychology. He equally holds certificates from different professional bodies’ e.g, Fnim, Fnimn, mcia.
This enigma, Egbesola Sola is a man of many parts, he is a man with enviable achievements in life, he has used his talent to affect several lives and he still has the potential to do more for humanity.
Going down the memory lane, Solah, as he is popularly called by his friends and associates, came from a comfortable, but humble parentage, his parents unfettered love for hard work, shrewdness in business management and passion to seek knowledge had serious impact on his upbringing.
The young man, at youth imbibed his family culture of knowledge seeking. He was reputed to be so brilliant while in school and always kept his nose on the scholastic grindstone.
Sola dazzled everybody in his academics, while at boyhood age in the primary school, where he passed excellently. He was a student of Iganmode Grammar School, Ota between the year 1988 and 1994, and passed his Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination at one sitting.
He gained admission into Ogun State University now Olabisi Onabanjo University in 1995 and bagged a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration.
His interest to study Business Administration must be in connection with his father’s love for business. Perhaps, he also must have learned a lesson from an Italian proverb that says “knowledge is silver among the poor, gold among the nobles and jewel among the princes”. After the completion of his first degree. He sought for knowledge in Olabisi Onabanjo University where bagged Masters in Finance in the year 2002. Hence, one can conclude by saying Sola’s passion for knowledge is unquenchable!
After acquiring his Masters degree in the year 2002, he was still desirous of having more education in other spheres to make him more useful and relevant to his business environment and the country at large.
In the year 2006, he gained admission into a reputable University in Manchester to seek requisite knowledge in Business and Entrepreneur skill in order to make impact in Nigeria’s social and economic future.
Ebullient Sola, in the year 2010 went back to the Ivory tower to acquire more knowledge. He successfully completed his third Master in that same year. He is a member of many reputable professional bodies and association. He is a Fellow of the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (FNIMN), Member, Chartered Institute of Administration. Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management (FNIM) and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Customer Service Relationships Management (FCICRM).
Egbesola Sola, a role model, mentor and an easygoing young businessman pursues any sterling principle he believes doggedly. He is a charismatic problem solver, who strongly believes that once a problem gets a definition, there can always be a solution, he is an evolved believer in the aphorism that whatever is worth doing at all is worth doing well.
Recently, Sola contested for the position of the President of Abeokuta Sports Club and he won. His mission for the prestigious Club made him to vie for the position. Abeokuta Sports Club was established in the year 1904. It is social club that provides a conducive environment for different sport activities for the people, such as Tennis, Squash, Dart, Table Tennis, Scrabbles & Chess, Ayo and Draft etc.
Abeokuta Sport Club is a foremost Club in the Sub-Sahara Africa. Notable personalities in the society are members of this club. Recently, the Former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo together with Chief Kensington Adebutu was inducted as the Patron of the Club. The Club has constitutionalise it that all Alakes of Egbaland and all the Sitting Governor of Ogun State were automatic the “Life Patron of the Club”.
Sola’s tenure as stipulated in the constitution is two years but within that two years, his vision is to make the Club a cynosure of all eye. He plans to make the Cub a metropolitan, family and friendly Club wherein all members can have all the good things of life.
His passion is to impact the society positively; hence, he sees Abeokuta Sport Club as another means to contributes his wealth of experience which has acquired in all spheres of life.
No doubt, Abeokuta Sport Club has elected a versatile, eloquent, and a philanthropist has there president. As he has said, Sola will do everything possible with God’s help to uplift and promote the Club more than he met it.
He is the Managing Director, Bezer Hall and Hotels Ltd, a 96 room Hotel situated along Lagos/Abeokuta Express road, Ota, Ogun State, he is also the Managing Director of Elvinas Facility Managers, his company manages General Hospital Isolo, Lagos State, and the company serves as a Consultant to Lagos State Government on property management.
Mr. Sola is the Managing Director of Elvinas Investment and Logistics Ltd, a major distributor with Vitafoam Nigeria Plc, he is a Managing Partner of Cartwiser Projects Ltd, an heavy equipments leasing company. The Managing Director, Vantage Global Resources and Mining Ltd, a mining Company licensed by the Federal Government.
He is happily married. He married his heartthrob, Moriyike in the year 2006. This young genius is an unapologetic knowledge seeker who has travelled to all continents of the world. Olusola is a genial socialite, an erudite scholar, an astute manger of men and human resources who, through his versed knowledge and international exposures, has successfully presided over many reputable companies in the past years.
