Opinion-WHY SELF-MEDICATION MAY KILL YOU

Self-Medication, the practice of purchasing and administering drugs on oneself without ever consulting a doctor or some medical practitioner for a prescription, could be a self-issued passport to death. It doesnt matter if the drug is a common analgesic, such as Panadol or Tylenol; an antibiotic, such as amoxicillin or penicillin, or strictly controlled drugs, which lawful countries would have made impossible to purchase over counter without a prescription.

FRSC VOWS TO PROSECUTE TRAFFIC OFFENDERS AS MOBILE COURTS CONVICT 359 IN PLATEAU AND NASARAWA STATES


The new Zonal Commanding Officer for the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC)  in Zone 4 comprising Plateau, Benue and Nasarawa States Assistant Corps Marshal Kayode OLAGUNJU, mni has vowed to prosecute erring motorists in the Zone to improve safety situation on the roads. The ZCO stated this on the heel of Mobile Courts organised by the FRSC  between 26 June and 21 July, 2020 vonvicting 359 traffic offenders in Plateau and Nasarawa States. This was disclosed in a Statement issued by the Acting Zonal Public Education Officer, Deputy Route Commander Terry Hoomlong in Jos. He disclosed that a total of 408 traffic offenders were arrested by the FRSC Operatives and arraigned before eight (8) Magistrate Courts in the two states. 50 out of the 408 arraigned were discharged and acquited. The Convicts were given between two to six months jail terms but were however given the options of fines ranging between two to ten thousand naira.

He was born at Agbamu in Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State. He started his education at St.  Paul Anglican Primary School, Agbamu and had his West African Examination Certificate from  Government Secondary School,  Afon, Kwara State.

Ibrahim Magu was a powerful man. If you look at the list of his clients you will surmise too that he must have powerful enemies. But Muhammadu Buhari, the President of the Republic was once with him. That has changed now and that means all the difference for Magu. How the current drama would play out finally is not clear yet, but as of now it seems safe to conclude that the once powerful boss of the all-powerful Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC, is now past tense.
