The peace of industrial community in Ota, Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Council Area, Ogun State, was disrupted on Monday morning, when a group of armed gangs, numbering over 30 invaded Ilo Awela road, brandishing various types of weapons and attacking every one that came their way.

An eye witness informed Damatv that the hoodlums who were armed with different weaponry, including cutlasses,  knives,  sub-machine guns and other weapons,  robbed people at will and dispossessed them of their valuables, like phones, purses, bags, okadas, and anything that came handy.
Policemen from Sango Police Station led by DPO Godwin Idehai, a Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) were said to have been drafted to the scene of the trouble and with assistance of youths from the adjoining communities who had already mobilised themselves to counter the invading marauders,  the attack was repelled in no time.
Damatv gathered that with the combined quick efforts of the police and the youths in the adjourning communities, no fewer than six invading marauders were captured and taken to Sango police station.
Confirming the story to Damatv the DPO said it was fall-out of a fight that began in Oshodi, Lagos State where some boys egaged themselves in free for all at a party in the night.
“Because they were not careful, an oncoming vehicle ran over one of them and injured him very critically. It was while they were rushing him to hospital to save his life that he died on the way.
“Rumoured went round among them that it was one of Ota boys among the miscreants that caused the death of one of them, by pushing him in front of the vehicle that killed him.
“The micreants immediately turned their journey to revenge mission and headed to Ota, going through Ilo-Awella and started attacking everyone that came their way,”
The DPO said his team arrested six of the suspects, with others escaping,  recovered the dead body and took it to Ifo Mortuary.
He added that however investigation continued to unravel the real mission of the miscreants as what he had gathered so far was a preliminary report
