Cdr 'Seni Ogunyemi was born on the 28th June, 1965.
A native of Abeokuta, from Oke-Ona Egba, Igbore, Gbagura/Ago-Owu on both
maternal & paternal parenthood with a mixed religious background (Islam
& Christianity). He is from a royal family and an Alhaji. After his successful
contribution to the establishment of Lagos State Traffic Management Authority
(LASTMA) in the year 2000 as the pioneer Head, Road Traffic Safety and Public
Education, he, later joined the service of Ogun State Civil Service on the 4th
of August 2005 as the pioneer Ag. Director of Planning, Research and Statistics
in the newly established Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps,
under an enabling law of 9th March 2005.
Cdr 'Seni Ogunyemi has contributed immensely to the
acclaimed operational and managerial structure and training of the pioneering
staffs with other employed operatives of TRACE Corps till date. He designed the
approved and gazetted notice of offence sheet ticket, specifying the fines and
charges prescribed on various road traffic offences as regulated in the repeal
of 2006, 2009 and 2016 regulations. He brought TRACE Corps into limelight at
the Global Road Safety Workshop organized by the United Nations at the
International Conference Centre Ghana in November 2006. He worked harmoniously with the Ministry of
Justice for the attainment of an amended law of TRACE Corps as assented to, on
the 25th September 2007.
In recognition of his hard work, loyalty, dedication
and passion for the job, he initiated the drafting of the Scheme of Service for
the creation of the Road Traffic Cadres in Ogun State as ratified and approved
by the National Council of Establishment Abuja, through the Ogun State Bureau
of Establishment & Training and as adopted for re-designation of Officers
and Men of TRACE Corps to the Road Traffic Cadres in 2007 till date under the
auspices of Ogun state Civil Service Commission.
On 24th September 2008, he was elevated again to the
position of Deputy Corps Commander/Deputy Chief Executive (TRACE) in his
capacity as the Director, Traffic Operations. He is a facilitator and has
presented papers on Educative Road Safety and Traffic Management talks/issues
in various seminars/workshops within and outside the Country.
On 1st April, 2015 he became the acting TRACE Corps
Commander/Chief Executive of TRACE for 8 months and eventually on the 30th
November 2015, he became the substantive TRACE Corps Commander and Chief
Executive, as a confirmed career officer through the office of the Head of
Service Ogun State.
Cdr 'Seni Ogunyemi is a renowned Professional
Transporter and Consultant with over 25years experience in his chosen career.
He is now the current South West Chairman of Chattered Institute of Transport
Administration of Nigeria (CIOTA). He is currently pursuing his Ph.D in
Transport Management (in-view), but presently holds an M.Sc (Transport) degree,
B.Sc (Accounting) and NCE (Accounting). He is also member of various
professional bodies in Nigeria and Abroad [AP, Fsi, Fcai, FCIOTA, MNIM, MIMC,
CMILT(UK) MITE (USA)]. He is equally a recipient of various Awards of
Excellence in Road Traffic and Safety Management. He is Married and blessed
with children.
