Amotekun: the enemy within, outside Amotekun: the enemy within, outside and the Unity of Yorubas and Nigeria.side and the Unity of Yorubas and Nigeria.

For the first time in a long period, majority of Yoruba of the South Western of the country unanimously stood up against arrogance of the north. We have been having cases of Northern unbridled dominance, the "born to rule" attitude of the North and the overbearing cabal.

This was further confirmed by their double standard and condemnation of the newly formed Amotekun, in one swift, formation of Hisbah and other security outfits are acceptable in Kano, Kaduna, Nassarawa etc but Amotekun is condemnable in Yorubaland. They are afraid of the local and regional vigilante group called Amotekun. They are terrified no doubt, their nightmare is the unity of purpose and the audacious spirit behind the initiative. Not being able to recruit traitors—at least for now, that will kick against the project, amongst Yorubas, is the biggest vulnerability of the Fulani oligarchy today.
Erudite lawyers, opinion leaders, civil society organisations, youths, cultural organisations, Afenifere, opposition parties and other socio-cultural groups in Yoruba land have rose in strong defence of Amotekun; calling the bluff of federal government. The internet Trojans, Lagos/Ibadan Expressway media houses and beyond under the firm control of the Yorubas have unleashed their media power in support of Amotekun.
Influential columnists, opinion moulders, traditional rulers, and religious leaders of Yoruba extraction, have all thrown their weight behind Amotekun. Yorubas just reaffirmed age-long philosophy that: there is strength in unity. Yoruba do not start war they can not win, Yorubas are not cowards they just love to be diplomatic and circumspect in whatever they do. No one, or group of people can enslave an indigenous people without their consent. What Mallami and his supporters has finally done is to sensitise the consciousness of average Yorubas from whichever political divide that "yes, there is grand conspiracy against Yorubas somewhere against the age long trust we have for the North". We have history on our side, we remember what and how it happened during the second and third republic, we remember the demise of Chief Moshood Kashimawo Abiola, we remember June 12 and all the players. You call Yoruba tribal bigot, we know those that are feudal lord, the born to rule, the oligarchy, the oppressors.
Enemies of Oodualand has finally realised but terrified that the same resilient spirit of unity that gave rise to Amotekun, could birth Oduduwa Republic; what they dread most—a disintegrated Nigeria. Yorubas has never beleive or work for the disintegration of Nigeria but may be forced by the twist of fate of the oligarchy who believe Yorubas are coward or traitor.
The earlier the Malami and those stoking the ember of disunity of this Nation called ours desist from the condemnation of ensuring security of lifes and properties in Oodualand the better, "Amotekun" has come to stay.
With this,
l remain ....... HC Ade
